Anastasia Fragkou in Parko Eleftherias, Athens, Greece

In Athens is always a good time to do a long relaxing walk.

One of the very nice walks in the city is the one to the Parko Eleftherias (Park of Liberty).

Walk down Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, one of the most central and beautiful streets in Athens

with many amazing buildings, Embassies and Museums.

Next to Megaro Mousikis (The Concert Hall) there is this small but lush park, where you can rest and enjoy the view.

If you want to use the Metro ,right in front of the park there is the"Megaro Mousikis" metro station .

The Park was designed in 1960's by architect Panagiotis Vokotopoulos and the statue

of Eleftherios Venizelos which is located in the center of the park  is Yannis Pappas' work.

Behind the park there are some stone buildings which in the Balkan wars were used by the army,

and later during the dictatorship as penitentiary .

Today there is located the Museum of Eleftherios Venizelos and the Athens Municipality Arts Center.

Don't forget to bring some water or a refreshment to  quench your thirst :)
